Things are not always as big as they seem: this is the theme that runs consistently throughout the colourful and comforting graphic novel Call Your Sister by Archie McKenzie. Following a pathetic, loveable buff bunny, the comic watches Bowgie cling on to his perspective, wallow in the misery, and avoid change at all costs, until he’s forced to deal with the consequences. Call Your Sister doesn’t shy away from dark themes; instead, it explores them with soft risographed colours, relaxed linework, supportive characters and expansive environments. Archie McKenzie’s playful artwork and character designs are the essential elements to exploring the heart of the story: it’s going to be okay.

Call Your Sister is risograph printed in aqua, yellow and fluorescent pink and handbound in the Inky Fruit Co studio. You can pick it up here.
